Esben Auken is CEO at TEMcompany (former Aarhus GeoInstruments Aps), and adjunct professor at the Department of Geoscience, Aarhus University. He has been Deputy Director at the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland and before that full time professor of geophysics at Aarhus University. He gained an MSc (1991) and PhD (1996) in geophysics from Aarhus University. As professor he was heading a research group of about 30 researchers dedicated to research on the highest level within electrical and electromagnetic instruments, and processing algorithms for high resolution imaging of the shallow subsurface. TEMcompany develops affordable, easy to use electromagnetic instruments for imagining groundwater resources. He co-founded three successful spin-out companies: SkyTEM Surveys Aps (2003), Aarhus GeoSoftware ApS (2015, since 2021 Seequent) and TEMcompany (2020).
Aarhus Geolnstruments公司创始人及CEO，丹麦奥胡斯大学兼职教授，“深地资源探测学科创新引智基地”海外学术大师，曾任国际著名地球物理团队奥胡斯大学HydroGeophysics Group主任、丹麦与格陵兰岛地调局副局长。研究领域为地球物理探测及其在水文地质方面的应用，长期从事地球物理仪器研制、野外方法技术研究、数据处理和反演软件研发等方向的研究工作，主导了多套国际领先的电磁观测系统和相应数据处理程序的开发，包括直升机瞬变电磁系统 ( SkyTEM) 和拖电变电磁系统(tTEM)，数据处理平台Aarhus WorkBench和数据正反演系统AarhusInv等。在地球物理与浅地表水文地质研究领域享有盛名，领导了多个国际大型研究项目，致力于地球物理数据与水文模型整合，于2016年被国际勘探地球物理学家学会SEG授予“FrankFrischknecht Leadership Award”。在《Nature》、《Nature communication》等自然科学顶尖期刊发表了多篇研究成果，累计发表学术论文500余篇，总引10000余次。
